Alpaca experience

Join the rangers and our three beautiful alpaca - Jim, Topaz and Mally on this new event.

We'll start off with a brief talk about alpaca and introduce you to our three boys. The rangers will then demonstrate how to catch the alpaca and we we'll take them on a walk around the park with opportunities for photographs.

We estimate that the experience will take between 60 - 90 minutes.

The detail

Although you can buy your voucher now to give as a gift (or to use yourself!) we don't plan to start this event until March 2017.

Most of the walks will take place after the zoo closes so we'll need to wait until the nights get lighter. Once you've received your voucher please get in touch with us and we'll arrange a time that's suitable for you to come and redeem your voucher!

As our park can get very busy we'll be avoiding peak visitor times.  Walks will be limited to no more than 3 adults and 2 children.  If you'd like to arrange for a larger group or a private family walk please contact us directly.

Sorry..

Sorry - no children under 8.  Alpaca don't like dogs so please don't bring your dog with you! Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear as paths may be uneven or muddy.

Animal adoption

Will you help us by adopting one of our animals?

Adopting an animal for a year will get you a super adoption welcome pack full of all the information you need to know about the animal you've chosen to adopt. You'll also get a key ring, newsletter, annual adopters’ evening certificate and birthday card.

Every adoption helps us buy things for the zoo that otherwise we'd be unable to afford. Things like the alpaca and their shelter, Herdwick sheep, ornamental waterfowl, squirrel sheds and incubator, rugs and harness for the donkeys, a set of ornamental entrance gates, our lovebird aviary, feed troughs and veterinary scales. The list could go on!

So you can see how much we rely on your continued help and generosity.

The animals available for adoption are: Lenny & Charlie the donkey’s, our herd of African Pygmy Goats, the Peacocks, our Shetland Ponies – Lotty and Pebbles, our collection of Rabbits, the ferrets and our Miniature Pot Bellied Pigs. Individual animals are not up for adoption as sometimes animals move home or are changed for breeding purposes.

How much will it cost me?

The cost for one year’s animal adoption is £15. Red Squirrels cost £20 and the adoption is more suitable for adults.

What do I get?

The adoption pack will include;

  • An adoption pack containing animal fact pack, certificate, gift and picture of your animals
  • Bi-annual newsletter which will be sent out in April and October.
  • Celebration card from the chosen animal on the adopters birthday (or other special date)
  • Special Adoption evening where you can chat with the keepers about the animal or bird you have adopted.
  • Your name on our adoption board

What happens to my money?

Every adoption helps us buy things for the zoo that otherwise we'd be unable to afford. Things like the alpaca and their shelter, Herdwick sheep, ornamental waterfowl, squirrel sheds and incubator, rugs and harness for the donkeys, a set or ornamental entrance gates, our lovebird aviary, feed troughs and veterinary scales. The list could go on!

This scheme is for individuals. Group adoptions are available – please contact us for more details on erowlands1@warrington.gov.uk

Billionaire boy

David Walliams -'Billionaire Boy'

Wednesday 30 August

Thursday 31 August

Door open at 5.30pm

Joe’s dad is rich and he buys Joe anything he wants, and lots of things he doesn't want besides. Joe's got his own bowling alley, his own cinema, even his own butler who is also an orangutan. No one dares to bully him, because he can always pay them off. But Joe isn't happy. Why not? Because he's got a billion pounds! But not a single friend.

It's pretty hard to trust people when your dad's idea of a birthday present is a million-pound cheque. But then someone comes along! Someone who likes Joe for Joe and not for his money. The problem is, Joe's about to learn that when money is involved, nothing is what it seems and nearly everything he believes is wrong......

Please bring a rug or low backed chair to sit on.

Tickets are priced £13 for adults and £8 for seniors and children (up to the age of 15). A family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) is £38.

Keeper for the day

Join the zoo rangers to discover what it’s like to work in the children’s zoo. After a health and safety talk the session begins by cleaning out one of our stables and bedding it out again. We’ll then spend some time learning about what animals eat and their different dietary requirements. Then it’s time to feed the goats and meet some more of our friendly residents.

Please wear old clothes and suitable footwear such as wellies because you'll be getting dirty! Parental / adult supervision is required and in the interests of health and safety this event is only open to children aged 5 and above!

Limited to 10 children on each session - not including adults.

Meet outside the zoo gates.

Mothers day banner

Sunday 26 March 2017

Make Mother's day special this year by enjoying afternoon tea in surroundings every Mum deserves.

As Mum arrives she'll be treated to a glass of fizz to make her feel extra special (don't tell her every guest will get one of these just yet!).

Afternoon tea will be served in the concert room which includes a selection of dainty sandwiches and cakes served with tea or coffee. Now we know you want to make this day all about mums SO as well as dainty sandwiches, scrummy cakes and lots of tea and coffee we're going to give a gift to every mum in the group; if you're treating Mum, Grandma and if you're a mum yourself, let us know so that everyone leaves with a special gift.

Oh and just to mention that whilst you're enjoying your afternoon tea, we'll have pianist Bryan Pendleton, formerly leader of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, providing the ambience to Mum's special afternoon!

Please note - there's a maximum of ten people to a table so please let us know if you have food allergies so that we can plan ahead.

Northanger Abbey

22 June 2017

Doors open at 6pm

While spending a few weeks in Bath with a family friend, Catherine meets and falls in love with Henry Tilney, who invites her to visit his family estate, Northanger Abbey.

What is the mystery surrounding the death of Henry's mother? Is the family concealing a terrible secret within the elegant rooms of the Abbey? Please bring a rug or low backed chair to sit on.

Tickets are priced £13 for adults and £8 for seniors and children (up to the age of 15). A family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) is £38.
